PETTY OFFICERS’ MESS

The story of this building began in 1914 when it served a military purpose, having been built as a petty officers’ mess. Its function changed over the years until it became a canteen kitchen for the schools in Erfurt. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, the building was no longer used and it fell into disrepair.

DAS KEHRS

Petersberg Citadel’s very own hotel

Nowadays, the building is a family-run hotel and restaurant.

This unique location offers guests absolute peace and privacy. The fortress grounds span twelve hectares – perfect for a leisurely stroll or jog at any time of day, away from traffic and noise and with great views of the city. Children staying at the hotel can happily and safely play in the green spaces, playgrounds and public gardens surrounding the hotel. The Kehrs hotel also serves as a venue for meetings and conferences or just as a welcome retreat for business travellers after a long day of work.
