Anselm’s ravelin with peacetime powder magazine
The Ravelin Anselm was built during the first phase of fortification construction between 1665 and 1702. It is a separate fortification in the main moat of the complex. Since 1822, the Ravelin has been home to the Peace Powder Magazine V. In peacetime, this was used to store black powder, which was kept outside the core fortress. From 1920, the Guttemplerorden (Good Templar Order) gathered here, after which it was a residential building until the 1990s.
