Peacetime laboratory
The building was built in 1818/19 in half-timbering. Initially it was used for the production of rifle and gun ammunition. For security reasons, ammunition was manufactured or stored on the outer edge of the fortress during peacetime. Between 1920 and 1935 it was converted into emergency housing and then used differently by the police and military until 1992. From 1995 to 2013 it served as a clubhouse for an Erfurt shooting club.
