Guardhouse
The guard building was erected in 1735 for better control of the fortress access. From here, the drawbridge to Ravelin Peter and thus the main access to the Petersberg city fortress could be secured. Ravelins are independent structures located between two bastions in front of the fortress wall. The guardhouse was used for military purposes until the beginning of the 20th century, after which it served as a residential building. With the last renovation in 2000, the extension on the southwest side was added.
