Combined tour
The exhibition in the Commander’s House and the listening tunnels in the citadel
Our guides will accompany you through the exhibition rooms in the Commander’s House and shed light on the different chapters in the history of Petersberg Citadel. This will include the monastery era, the development of the fortress and the lives of the soldiers and, more recently, the role of the citadel in former East Germany. The focus of the exhibition is on interaction, with multimedia exhibits such as video installations, sounds, infographics and models providing an all-round sensory experience of the citadel’s eventful history.
After the tour, our guides will accompany you to the mysterious listening tunnels beneath the citadel. We can also offer the option of meeting your group in the city centre, so that you can make your way to the citadel in the company of our guide (approx. 30 minutes will be added to the duration of the tour, depending on the starting point).
